If the recent rebranding of CoreLogic™ to Cotality™ along with their various other product name changes has left you confused, you are not alone. Here is a direct breakdown of the Cotality software suite and how all of the names fit together.
- Claims Workspace™ (the hub), formerly known as Claims Connect™
This is the web-based “Management” side of the software. You log in through your browser to see your dashboard.
- What it’s for: Managing your file list, receiving new assignments from insurers and TPAs, and tracking the status of your assignments.
- The Dynamic: You start here to open a file and end here to submit it for approval.
- Do I need it? Only if you are accepting claim assignments from insurers or TPAs, or if you want to write or edit your own estimates. Otherwise, you do not need it–we can write your estimate in our account and make any edits for you.
- Cotality Estimate™ app (the tool), formerly known as Mobile Claims™
This is the “Heavy” software you install on your PC. It is the actual estimating engine used to write Symbility™ estimates.
- What it’s for: Doing the “real” work—sketching the floor/roof/exterior plans, adding line items for materials and labor, and calculating the final dollar amount.
- The Dynamic: When you click “Edit” on a claim in the Claims Workspace, it launches this desktop application.
- Why is it called a “Symbility” estimate? It’s our understanding that the Symbility name will be going away and an estimate will then be referred to as a “Cotality” or a “Cotality Estimate” in due time. But for the time being, Cotality’s support site still lives at symbilityproperty.com, and we aren’t quite used to calling it anything other than Symbility just yet. The transition seems to be gradual.
